Professor Charles Mutai is the Acting Deputy Principal for Academic and Student Affairs at Turkana University College.

He holds a BSc degree from University of Nairobi, Nairobi and an MSc in Pharmacology from Liverpool, and a PhD in Pharmacognosy (distinction) from University of Athens. Other awards include a WHO/TDR Fellowship in drugs development for tuberculosis at the Center for Drug Screening, Shanghai, China. His scholarly work has included numerous research and

professional projects and over 65 publications.


He is Professor of Pharmacology and has been Dean of the School of Health Sciences and School of Public Health, Biomedical Sciences & Technology since 2013. Through his term he led the School through a strategic and physical transformation that enabled it to increase its market share of the students, grow its postgraduate student numbers, boost its research income and performance, expand its national partnerships, and increase the number of programs
