Prof. Egara Kabaji is the Acting Principal of Turkana University College.  He holds a Bachelors Degree in Education and Masters Degree in Literary Studies from Kenyatta University. He studied for a PhD Degree from University of South Africa (UNISA) in Folk Media. He is a professor of literary communication. He has extensive training and experience in leadership and management, development of university programmes, research, data collection and analysis, teaching literary studies and communication at university level with proven

ability to design and prepare instructional materials. He has a wide research and publication track record of over fifty publications with over twenty five years working experience of conducting research,teaching at the university level in the areas of: communication, literary studies, gender Studies and creative writing.


Prof. Kabaji has over ten years experience in university administration, working with the civil societies in the following areas; capacity building and training in institutional development and setup, development of training manuals, civic education and democracy, media production, constitutionalism, community mobilisation and advocacy, good governance, poverty analysis, enterprise development, cultural issues, development strategies, creative writing, resource mobilization, gender sensitization and poverty impact assessment studies.


He is a distinguished scholar who has won prestigious fellowships including the Fulbright Scholar in Residence fellowship at HACC, Pennsylvania, United States of America. Prof. Egara Kabaji is finalising his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (Strategic Management Option) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
